Surface Area

If you leave a glass of water on the counter, the water level will hardly change over several days. Spill that same glass, and the water will evaporate in a few hours.

Spread out over a large surface, the water evaporates far quicker than it ever could while in the glass.

The same is said for our energy levels.

While doing deep-focused work on a specific task we can make incredible progress. Concentrating our energy in one direction keeps our levels up.

When we juggle our workload and bounce between tasks, our energy is spread thin. Regardless of the work we are doing, the very act of juggling causes our energy to evaporate.

We burn out and have little progress to show for it.

Concentrate your energy.

Focus on one thing at a time.
