Spring Branches

Nature is fascinating and beautiful. It’s hypnotic to watch.

The other evening I was out for a walk and noticed the branches of a tree. On the tips of the old branches new growth was starting for the spring, and on the tips were tiny buds waiting for their time to bloom in a few short weeks.

What struck me the most was how the tips all reached upwards, like tiny fingers trying to touch the sky.

It’s one of those things I’ve never really paused to notice before. It makes sense, of course, they’re trying to get the most sun exposure. It happens naturally through thousands of years of evolution.

But there’s something so human-like about it. As if the trees are doing it knowingly.

This is the best time of the year.

Colourful hand making a peace sign.
