I’ve had this one item on my to-do list for days. Buy a Sharpie.
I have a bunch of normal ones but need a fat one for labelling boxes — my wife and I are in the process of moving.
Life has played a tricky game the last couple of weeks and I’m drowning in overwhelm. The unimportance of the Sharpie has kept it on the back burner while I deal with everything else. Yet for some reason, this simple task has nagged me.
This afternoon I found a brief window of time and finally picked one up.
It’s such a simple thing, a Sharpie, something most of us buy without thinking about it.
But the relief that came from striking this from my to-do list lifted an incredible weight from my shoulders.
When you’re overwhelmed, tackle one small, seemingly insignificant task.
Sometimes that’s all you need to catch your breath.
