I feel that odd satisfaction that only comes with an unusual amount of mental and physical effort.
It’s a strange combination of exhaustion and bliss.
I spent the weekend on a downhill biking trip in the mountains of central British Columbia. I flew out after work on Thursday, where my wife — who was already out there — picked me up.
We rode the mountain for two days, pushing ourselves to new limits.
After the day-long drive home, I sit at the computer in this strange state.
Physically battered and mentally drained, I type these words in the haze of glory that only comes from an experience like this.
And I will welcome the sleep to come with a mind and body at peace.
