Whatever your cause — be it social, political or otherwise — be wary of how hard you push.
Without external force, the pendulum always comes to rest.
Status quo.
To find a resting point for everyone, however, the pendulum needs pushing. Some causes are worthy. Others are not. Before pushing, consider the outcome you desire — then consider the opposite.
Because aside from rare cases where a tipping point shifts the paradigm on a mass scale, the pendulum always swings back.
And while it never swings quite as hard, the contrast can be staggering.
Unless your cause is truly worth that risk — play the long game.
Otherwise, keep pushing.
