Mindful Christmas.

Be Mindful this Christmas.

Whether you celebrate for religious reasons or none at all, it’s arguably one of the happiest times of the year.

At least it should be.

The problem is that happiness doesn’t come with a switch that can be turned on or off at will. And for many, this time of year is the most difficult. Some people don’t have family living nearby — if any at all. Others may be struggling with something else, something personal.

This isn’t to say you shouldn’t enjoy yourself or that you can’t share your good times on social media. But keep it in your mind that not everyone will be feeling the Christmas cheer.

And many people you know likely fall into this group. Depressed people rarely open up about their depression.

So enjoy the holidays if that’s your thing. And if not, enjoy them anyway. But please forgive the excuses when someone declines to hang out. If someone doesn’t reciprocate your happy vibes, let it slide.

And when sharing your celebrations and merry gatherings on the socials, remember that not everyone can be so fortunate.

Big love to all this weekend.

Colourful hand making a peace sign.
