Grey

When a major conflict arises, the media gives us two choices. From these, we pick a side. It’s us vs them.

But the two-sided choice is an illusion, it’s the easy way out.

Each side has good people, each side has bad. When we choose quickly — influcenced by the options the media provides us — we unintentionally villainize the innocent and turn a blind eye to those who terrorize.

Defending the good, regardless of side, seems obvious. But aligning with any of them leads to criticism and contempt from the us crowd. So we default to whichever of the two choices those around them have chosen.

In a world painted in strokes of black and white, the truth is in the grey.
