It’s so easy to compare ourselves to the greats.

We see their triumphs and successes and tell ourselves that we don’t have it in us — that there’s no way we could ever do that.

Steve Jobs, Opera Winfrey, Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Ariana Huffington…

They’re built differently. They have things we don’t. It’s the reason they made it so far.

It’s true. But not in the way most people think.

What sets these people apart isn’t some entrepreneurial blessing from the gods. They all had the same inner critic, the same nagging voice telling them not to waste their time. Each of them had the same insecurity and doubt about their abilities.

What made them different is that they ignored that inner voice. They didn’t let it deter them.

They kept going.
