Deficit

I’m going to have to change up my February diet this year. It’s not working.

For the last few years, I’ve gotten rid of most carbs in general — just as a way to give my body a rest from sugar. It’s never been a problem, because I’m not very active during the winter.

This year, however, I’m training quite hard. I’m running almost daily, and going to the gym more than normal.

Unfortunately, significant physical training does not mix well with a low-carb diet. Without such a powerful energy source, I’ve been running a calorie deficit for over a week.

This is not sustainable.

So while I won’t be diving into a bag of candy any time soon, certain carbs will be back on the menu. I don’t think I have a choice.
