I’ve written about all of the posts that I haven’t published. The ones in which the process served as therapy, and that once the work was done there was no reason to share the words in public.
These articles were full of negative energy nearly every single time — which is exactly why they felt so therapeutic.
But I wonder how many posts, from the last year of forced daily publishing, are full of such negativity. Posts that I shared in haste, without considering how they could affect everyone else.
Regardless of how therapeutic the writing process was for me, sharing them with the world inadvertently passed that negativity onto the readers.
It’s an aspect of the practice that I hadn’t considered.
