“You’re only given one little spark of madness. You mustn’t lose it.“

I absolutely love this quote from Robin Williams. Every time I read it, I feel a calming joy — a temporary reminder that we’re all a bit crazy.

During a chat with a friend today, I was reminded of this quote. And I’ve been struggling to put my emotions into words.

We all have this something within us. A unique vitality, a sense of spontaneity, a creative fire.

Yet we suppress this madness to fit in. And the more that we do it, the more such eccentricity is considered weird. Though we all have it, we shroud that bit of light within us because we’re too scared to be different.

But it’s that difference — that contrast to what we call normal — that makes humanity such a beautiful thing.
