Back on Track

Late last year a couple of friends and I decided to challenge ourselves to a half marathon sometime in 2025.

At the time, I still hated running and, to this day, have absolutely no idea why I agreed to such a foolish thing.

Shortly after, I had an ankle injury that stopped me from any proper running for over six weeks. Thankfully, that is behind me now, but I’m now several weeks behind in training.

For the first time this year, I hit the 5K mark yesterday morning. And today, before I was awake enough to talk myself out of it, I ran my first 10.

My legs are jelly, my body is drained, and even my brain is a little foggy. Yet somehow, I feel amazing.

I have a lot of work to do, but I’m happy to be back on track.
