I started running to work on my cardio. The biking season is only so long and I wanted to keep my health up during the winter. It took a very long time to start enjoying the act — I don’t even know if I’m there yet.
But as I’ve said often, I like how I feel afterwards. Days that start with cardio feel better overall. And between biking and running, I’ve had a lot of those days.
Yesterday I went for what was, in all likelihood, the last ride of the season. Even without snow, when temperatures dip below freezing, it’s not good for many expensive bike components.
Running should make up for it — the cardio, at least.
Unfortunately, I’m currently nursing a tendon injury in my ankle. It’s nothing too serious but running aggrivates it.
As discouraging as this is, I have not thought much about it until this morning. And, while frustrated, I had a bit of a laugh.
Just the other day I posted about my lack of meditation and the want to put more focus on that practice. I wrote about my leaning towards conventional exercise pushed meditation aside.
And here I am, suddenly sitting with newfound spare time each morning.
Now I can work on the mind while the body heals.
