Self-care is more important than productivity.
This seemingly obvious notion is often lost in Western culture. In a world where the grind is celebrated, where people brag about their long hours, self-care is regularly sacrificed for productivity.
I’ve been guilty of this far too often. Thankfully, after several brushes with severe burnout, I came to my senses.
Regardless of how much time you put in, if you aren’t of a healthy mind, your productivity will sputter and die. And without a healthy body, your mind will suffer.
Break up your day, go for a walk, or take a day off. Eat better, hydrate more. Rest.
Without these, you’ll get nowhere.
