My wife and I are currently watching/rewatching all of the Marvel movies and TV shows. Although I’ve seen most, she’s missed out on a few. And neither of us has watched them in order of the MCU timeline.

I caught a detail in Iron Man 2 that I hadn’t noticed before, and it impressed the hell out of me.

During the scene where Iron Man and War Machine are fighting each other, the background music is “Robot Rock” by Daft Punk.

The name of the song alone is fitting to the fight scene — even though it’s mostly instrumental and the unknowing viewer is none the wiser. The cherry on top is the fact that Daft Punk are known for hiding their identities and appearances behind robot masks.

It’s one of those subtle details that flies under the radar to most viewers. But it’s pure gold for those who know.
