25,000 Words

Four months into 2024 and this is the longest I’ve committed to any kind of daily practice.

I run most days, practice yoga and go to the gym more often than ever, and meditate several times a week. But life gets in the way, and sometimes I just don’t feel like doing any of those. But there’s one thing that I’ve been able to commit to.

I like writing. I find it therapeutic. And over the years I think I’ve gotten pretty ok at it — at least that’s what I’m told. So this year I decided to write something every day.

Four months and a little over 25,000 words in, I’ve posted a blog every single day in 2024.

For a guy who hated English and social studies in school — it turns out that I have a bit of a knack for both.

Sometimes I write about issues I feel are important. Most of the time I write about utter nonsense. On rare occasions, the things I write about matter to some people. And on days like today, I write about writing and hope that it still counts.

This might be a bit of a flex but I’m proud of myself for this one.

Follow along and hold me accountable if you wish.

You might not get any smarter from reading my words, but it can’t be any worse than doomscrolling social media.
