I can hear the haters already. But this is exactly how it sounds: bullshit processed meat from a can and bullshit processed cheese from a jar.
And it’s delicious.
The problem with these two ingredients is that people treat them the wrong way. Spam isn’t a meat replacement, it’s just spam. The same goes for Whiz, it isn’t an alternative to cheese. It’s its own thing.
And smashed together in an omelette they’re a wonderful thing. Unhealthy sure, and probably not something to make for breakfast when your date spends the night for the first time, but this is tasty nonetheless.
This is all about the filling. Make the physical omelette in any style you like.
Amounts are not exact, just suggestions. These recipes are general guidelines roughly aimed towards single egg, individual portions unless otherwise mentioned. Adjust as necessary. Play around. Have fun.
Season everything to taste with salt and pepper.

- 1 Egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup Spam, diced
- 2 tbsp Cheeze Whiz
- Hot sauce of choice, for serving
- Crispy Fried Shallots, for serving (you should always have a jar of these on hand, they’re amazing)
- Cook Spam at medium-high heat until crispy. Crispy Spam is less gross.
- Make omelette any way you choose, fill with Whiz and Spam.
- Top with crispy fried shallots and a splash of your favourite hot sauce.
- Eat without shame but don’t tell anyone what you’ve just done.
