I can’t stand it. I’m not your boss. Even if you’re working for me, that’s not who I am.

I’m not your boss. I’m not your superior.

What I am is a member of the team, whose role and responsibilities are different from yours. Nothing more.

The old hierarchical system is dying. It will survive longer in some industries, of course. There will be holdouts for decades. But the shift to a new dynamic is reaching a tipping point.

So leaders: be the example and lead. And to everyone else, seek out jobs where those in charge are leaders rather than overseers.

And don’t ever fucking call me boss.
